Refunds & cancellations
Plans change. Here's exactly what happens to your money when they do, with a calculator to check it yourself.
Automatic
Refunds are worked out and sent the moment you cancel.
Clear up front
Every business shows its cancellation rules before you book.
Business cancels?
You always get everything back.
Pay in person
Nothing charged, nothing to refund — just cancel in time.
How it works
In short: Each business sets a free-cancellation window. Cancel before it and everything you paid online comes back; cancel later and the business may keep a late fee.
Every business on BookInnTime sets two things, and you’ll see both before you confirm a booking:
- A free-cancellation window — how many hours before the appointment you can cancel for a full refund (24 hours unless the business chooses otherwise).
- A late-cancellation fee — the percentage of what you paid online that the business keeps if you cancel inside that window (50% unless the business chooses otherwise).
Refunds are worked out and sent automatically the moment you cancel. You don’t need to ask.

Every business sets its own window and late fee. You’ll always see them before you book.
Free cancellation
$60.00
back to your card
You cancelled 24+ hours before, so everything you paid online comes back.
If you cancel
In short: Before the window: full refund. Inside it: refund minus the business's late fee. Paid in person: nothing to refund.
- Paid online, cancelled in time: everything you paid online is refunded to your card.
- Paid online, cancelled late: you get back what you paid minus the business’s late-cancellation percentage.
- Paid a deposit: the same rules apply to the deposit you paid.
- Paying in person: nothing was charged, so there’s nothing to refund. Please still cancel so the business can offer the time to someone else.
- Not turning up without cancelling is treated as a late cancellation.
If the business cancels
In short: You always get a full refund, whatever the timing.
If a business cancels your booking for any reason, everything you paid online is refunded in full, automatically, and you’ll get an email letting you know. Late-cancellation fees exist to protect businesses from last-minute no-shows, so they never apply when the business is the one cancelling.
Changing your time
In short: Where a business allows it, you can move your booking instead of cancelling, and your payment moves with it.
Where the business allows it, you can reschedule from your confirmation email or your account instead of cancelling. Your payment carries over to the new time, so there’s nothing to refund or pay again unless the price is different.
Recurring bookings
In short: Cancelling a whole paid series refunds the dates still to come. Dropping single dates from a prepaid series doesn't.
- If you paid for a recurring series upfront and cancel the whole series, the dates that haven’t happened yet are refunded, using the same window and late-fee rules measured from the next upcoming date.
- Dates that have already happened aren’t refunded.
- Skipping individual dates within a prepaid series doesn’t trigger a partial refund. If you need to, contact the business.
When the money arrives
In short: Refunds go back to the card you paid with, usually within 5–10 business days.
Refunds are sent straight back to the card you paid with, through Stripe. They normally appear within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank. If one hasn’t arrived after 10 business days, contact the business or email us at support@bookinntime.com with your booking details.
If something went wrong
In short: Talk to the business first. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law always apply.
If a service wasn’t provided, or wasn’t what was agreed, contact the business first through your booking — most problems are fixed fastest that way. If you can’t resolve it, email support@bookinntime.com and we’ll help.
The business provides the service, so it is responsible for remedies such as a refund or redoing the service. Nothing in this policy limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, including when a service is not provided with due care and skill.
BookInnTime Pro subscriptions
In short: Cancel any time and keep Pro until the end of the period you've paid for. Part-used periods aren't refunded.
Businesses can cancel Pro at any time from the Pro page in their dashboard. You keep Pro features until the end of the billing period you’ve already paid for, and you won’t be charged again. We don’t refund part-used periods, except where the law requires it — for example, if Pro didn’t work as described. See our Terms of Service for more.
